THE PROBLEM

Things aren't being shared evenly in the chocolate supply chain. The chain starts with millions of farmers who produce cocoa and ends with the billions of consumers who enjoy chocolate. But what about the bit in the middle? This section is dominated by a handful of chocolate giants that profit from keeping the price of cocoa as low as possible. As a result, farmers are forced to live in poverty. And that leads to illegal child labour and modern slavery.

Tony’s deliberately chooses to work in Ghana and Ivory Coast. That’s where the worst problems are so that’s where we want to have a positive impact. Tony’s mission is to make all chocolate 100% slave-free. In Ghana and the Ivory Coast, 1.56 million children are work under illegal conditions and 30,000 people are victims of modern slavery. Therefore, TONY’S deliberately choose to work in these countries, making a postive impact where the worst problems are.

THE IMPACT

Tony’s mission is together they’ll make 100% slave free the norm in chocolate. And the roadmap is helping to get there. But how much progress are we making and how much impact are we creating?

Good question! That’s why we’ve gone to great lengths to explain what we’re doing. We also monitor the effects of our activities so you can see what impact we’re creating. These are our main impact results from the last book year:
